Burton Elementary School

Seamless Day

Burton Elementary After School Care Program (Seamless Day) is an extension of the traditional academic school day and is comprised of two components that provide continuous care and support for children through the school day and into before and/or after school hours.

The first component is an in-school collaboration by a team of Educators, including the Primary Classroom Teacher and an Early Childcare Educator (ECE) supporting students in Grades K and 1. The second component is after-school childcare for children in Grades K-7 led by an Early Child Educator.

The Seamless Day program has strong links to the British Columbia Early Learning Framework, with values and pedagogies intertwined and a specific focus on well-being, holistic learning, and inclusive practice. Educators base the program around the children’s ever-changing curiosities, continually reflecting and making changes inspired by their needs, interests, and abilities.

The Seamless Day program runs Monday-Thursday from 3:30pm-5:30pm. To register, please contact the school administrative assistant, Jess Coates- jessica.coates@sd10.bc.ca or the program coordinator, Lora Mae Swanson- loramae.swanson@sd10.bc.ca. Registrations packages can be found here:
