Our School

Burton Elementary School (BES) is located in the attractive village of Burton, neighbouring the shore of Arrow Lake. The school is ideally situated for outdoor learning. Forests, creeks, valleys, mudflats, beaches, and the lake provide the perfect environment for students to expand their learning.  Sole access to the whole of the school and its grounds, plus the surrounding forest and beach, which is only five minutes away, is perfect for our students to explore outside the classroom. 

Our dedicated and caring staff is what makes our school a great place to be!  We focus on connecting with each child and ensuring that learning is student-centred, so each child can see their learning grow and experience success.  Our team of teachers and support staff actively participate in professional development to deliver the best possible learning experience for our students. 

BES has currently has 3 classrooms, a meeting room, a mobile StrongStart room, an outdoor learning area, a large gym, as well as a beautifully constructed library. Our engaging playground complete with a play structure, swings, a gaga ball and basketball court are available for our students and children of the Burton community to enjoy. BES uses a solar panel system to support the energy efficiency of the building.
